Mr. Emmanuel, an employee of Nigeria’s Corporate Affairs Commission, was in Morocco with his team and colleagues for the event, organized by North East Consultancy Limited.

According to Mr. Emmanuel, the incident occurred when he and his colleagues went to exchange dollars for Moroccan Dirham.

During the transaction, the shop owner inadvertently overpaid him with 430 Dirham.

Realizing the mistake, Mr. Emmanuel immediately informed Ahmed Shuaibu Gara Gombe, Team Lead of North East Consultancy, who verified the overpayment and arranged for the funds to be returned to the shop owner.

In an interview, Mr. Emmanuel said, “I am always content with what I have and believe in returning what doesn’t belong to me.”

He urged fellow Nigerians to maintain honesty and act as ambassadors of their country wherever they find themselves.

The Moroccan Tourism Agency and local police praised Mr. Emmanuel’s integrity, considering him a “true ambassador” of Nigeria.

Furthermore, North East Consultancy Limited’s CEO awarded him as the workshop’s best participant, expressing pride in his exemplary conduct.

By Our Correspondent

In a strongly worded press release issued Thursday, prominent Gombe businessman and political figure, Engineer Aliyu Mohammed (popularly known as Kombat), called on his supporters and political well-wishers to remain focused on development rather than early politicking, reaffirming his loyalty to the administration of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya.

The statement, which comes amid growing speculation about Kombat’s possible political ambitions, is seen as a calculated move to douse mounting pressure from his supporters urging him to declare interest in the 2027 general elections.

“I wish to express my heartfelt and profound gratitude over the overwhelming show of love and support—the calls, messages, and public encouragement,” the release began. “I have listened to your voices, felt your agitations, and deeply appreciate your trust and belief in me. I can’t take this for granted!”

However, Engineer Kombat maintained that it is “still a little too early to engage in any form of electioneering campaigns,” insisting that the focus at this critical time should remain on supporting the efforts of Governor Inuwa Yahaya, whom he described as a visionary leader transforming Gombe State.

“His Excellency has demonstrated exceptional leadership in barely six years,” Kombat said, highlighting landmark projects initiated by the Yahaya administration. These include the expansion of road infrastructure across all 11 local governments, the construction of a new State House of Assembly complex, a modern judiciary complex, and a revitalized state secretariat. Most notably, Kombat praised the establishment of the Muhammadu Buhari Industrial Park, calling it “the first of its kind in the country,” and a major step in positioning Gombe as an emerging industrial hub.

He also commended the governor for rewarding party loyalists and key supporters through appointments, contract opportunities, and pilgrimage slots, describing it as a gesture that “reflects a leadership that values loyalty and service.”

Engineer Kombat, who doubles as the Chairman and CEO of Velocity Group Limited, reassured the public that his philanthropic and empowerment initiatives will not cease, despite the ongoing political speculations. “We remain steadfast in our belief that true leadership lies in serving humanity and improving lives,” he stated.

He concluded by reiterating his commitment to ongoing consultations, hinting that when the time is right, he will make his political intentions known. “There’s a time for governance and a time for politics,” he noted. “When the time is right, we shall commence full political engagements—united in purpose and vision.”

Observers believe the press statement positions Kombat as a loyal ally of Governor Yahaya while also keeping the door open for future political aspirations. For now, however, he appears focused on consolidating his support base and aligning with the broader vision of the current administration.
