301 Artillery Regiment Decorates Newly Promoted Soldiers

In a ceremonial event filled with pride and gratitude, the 301 Artillery Regiment (General Support) under the command of Colonel Abubakar Mohammed Mohammed, decorated its newly promoted soldiers with their badges of rank.

The ceremony, held today, November 18, 2024, at the regiment’s training hall, marked a significant milestone for the soldiers who advanced in their careers following diligent service and exemplary conduct.

A total of 25 soldiers were promoted, ranging from the rank of private to warrant officer. Among the promoted were:
– Seven (7) Staff Sergeants elevated to Warrant Officers.
– One (1) Sergeant promoted to Staff Sergeant.
– Three (3) Bombardiers raised to Sergeants.
– Ten (10) Lance Bombardiers advanced to Bombardiers.
– Four (4) Gunners promoted to Lance Bombardiers.

These promotions followed the successful completion of requisite military and civil courses and received approval from the Chief of Army Staff.

During the ceremony, the Commander, Colonel A.M. Mohammed, congratulated the soldiers and emphasized the importance of discipline, professionalism, and adherence to the Nigerian Army’s core values of loyalty, discipline, and integrity.

“This promotion is not just a reward but a call to higher responsibility. Strive to be disciplined and worthy ambassadors of the Nigerian Army,” he stated.

Adding to the Commander’s remarks, the Regimental Sergeant Major of the Nigerian Army Corps of Artillery, Army Warrant Officer Bello Usman, advised the soldiers to approach their duties with renewed commitment and to maintain a positive image of the military.

He also encouraged them to balance their professional responsibilities with family obligations.

Speaking on behalf of the newly promoted soldiers, Warrant Officer Mohammed Kabiru expressed gratitude to the Chief of Army Staff for the recognition and pledged to uphold the trust placed in them.

He also acknowledged the support of the Commander and other officers, vowing to excel in their duties and remain exemplary in their service.

The ceremony witnessed an impressive turnout of military officers, soldiers’ families, invited guests, and well-wishers.

Highlights included the decoration of the soldiers, motivational speeches, and group photographs to mark the occasion.

Captain Mazinho Attah, Assistant Director of Army Public Relations for the 301 Artillery Regiment, described the event as a testament to the Nigerian Army’s commitment to fostering growth and excellence among its personnel.

With their new ranks, the promoted soldiers are set to take on greater responsibilities and further their contributions to the Nigerian Army’s mission to protect and serve the nation.
