Hon. Musa Buba Awards 5 Million Scholarship To 33 Students In Balanga North.

In a remarkable display of commitment to education and community development, Hon. Musa Buba, Member Representing Balanga North and Chief Whip of the Gombe State House of Assembly, has awarded ₦5 million in scholarships to 33 students from his constituency. The disbursement ceremony, held at Balawajah Palace in Talase, was attended by notable dignitaries, community leaders, and beneficiaries.
The event began with a keynote address by Professor Muazu Shehu, Principal Private Secretary (PPS) to the Gombe State Governor, who provided a comprehensive overview of Hon. Musa Buba’s political journey. He highlighted the lawmaker’s consistent delivery of democratic dividends, particularly in education, which has positively impacted Balanga North Constituency.
Mr. Charles Iliya, former Deputy Governor of Gombe State and Chairman of the disbursement committee, praised Hon. Musa Buba’s commitment to education, describing the scholarship initiative as a testament to effective representation. He urged the people of Balanga to continue supporting the Chief Whip to ensure sustained progress in the constituency.
Hon. Ibrahim Salisu, the event’s Chief Host, expressed pride in Hon. Musa Buba’s numerous developmental projects in Balanga Local Government Area. He also commended Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya for his administration’s contributions to Balanga’s development and encouraged Hon. Musa Buba to maintain his commitment to the people.
The Special Guest of Honour, Alhaji Abubakar Inuwa Kari, Chief of Staff to the Gombe State Government, lauded Hon. Musa Buba for his unparalleled dedication to educational empowerment. He emphasized that while other lawmakers focus on general empowerment, Hon. Musa Buba has distinguished himself by prioritizing education at all levels, from primary school to postgraduate studies. He further affirmed the governor’s full support for Hon. Musa Buba and called on other legislators to emulate his example.
His Royal Highness, Alhaji Muhammad Danjuma Muhammad, the Balawaja of Balanga, expressed gratitude on behalf of the community. He praised Hon. Musa Buba for his unwavering support for education and urged other well-to-do individuals to follow suit. His prayers for the Chief Whip’s continued success resonated with the audience.
Speaking on behalf of the Gombe State House of Assembly members, Hon. Kabiru Kuri, Member Representing Deba Constituency, described Hon. Musa Buba as “the best among equals.” He affirmed that the Assembly members are proud of his achievements and pledged to replicate similar initiatives in their constituencies.
In his speech, Hon. Musa Buba reaffirmed his longstanding commitment to education, which predates his political career. He promised to continue delivering democratic dividends to the people of Balanga North and urged them to support the administration of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, particularly for the ongoing infrastructural developments in the state.

As the 2027 elections draw nearer, there are growing calls from Balanga residents for Hon. Musa Buba to seek for new political office at the national assembly, reflecting the strong support he enjoys across the constituency.

NANS, North-East Youth Stakeholders to Honour APC Vice Chairman Salisu Mustapha in Yola

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) and youth stakeholders from the North-East Zone (Zone E) are set to honour Comrade Salisu Mustapha, a prominent political figure and advocate for youth development, in recognition of his outstanding contributions to leadership, activism, and humanitarian service across the region.
Comrade Mustapha, popularly known as Sa’in Adamawa, is a former national officer of NANS and currently serves as the National Vice Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the North-East Zone. He also holds leadership positions as the Chairman of the National Association of Private Teachers and Proprietors (NAPTP) and the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN).
The announcement was contained in a press release jointly signed and made available to journalists in Yola by Comrade Umar D. Afkawa, the NANS Zonal Coordinator; Tabitha Babayo, Chairperson of the Association of Female Comrades; and Comrade Alhasino Adam, a key youth representative. A reporter from Daily Fact obtained a copy of the statement.
According to the release, the honour is being conferred in recognition of Comrade Mustapha’s dedicated service to student activism, his inclusive leadership style, and his commitment to youth mentorship and empowerment. His numerous humanitarian contributions across Adamawa State and the entire North-East region were also cited as key reasons for the recognition.
“Comrade Salisu Mustapha has consistently demonstrated selfless leadership and shown unwavering support to younger generations. His contributions to both education and youth development stand out,” the statement noted.
The event to honour him is scheduled to take place today at his residence in the Dogire area of Yola, the capital of Adamawa State. Students, youth groups, political stakeholders, and members of civil society are expected to attend the ceremony.
This recognition by NANS and youth stakeholders adds to a growing list of commendations received by Comrade Mustapha for his efforts in advancing the interests of students, teachers, and young people across Nigeria.

Community Celebrates LG Chairman Dr. Ahmed Wali’s Exceptional Leadership

The Doho Development Association (DDA) in Kwami Local Government Area of Gombe State has celebrated the achievements of their Local Government Chairman, Dr. Ahmed Wali Doho, for his remarkable performance within one year of assuming office.
The community organized a special prayer session and thanksgiving ceremony to honor Dr. Wali’s leadership, which they described as a model of good governance.
Professor Shu’aibu Umar Wazirin Doho, Chairman of the organizing committee and Pro-Chancellor of the University of Benin, praised Dr. Wali for transforming the local government through impactful projects.
He highlighted that Dr. Wali has distinguished himself from his predecessors by delivering tangible development in record time.
Barrister Sani A.A. Haruna, Chairman of Gombe Local Government and ALGON Chairman for Gombe State, commended the Doho Development Association for recognizing Dr. Wali’s efforts.
He noted that the success of local government chairmen in Gombe State is due to Governor Inuwa Yahaya’s decision to appoint credible individuals, most of whom are not career politicians, to serve their communities.
“Dr. Wali’s projects and achievements speak volumes. Many of his contributions may not even be fully documented because of their scale,” Sani stated.
Justice Abdulhamid Yakubu Doho, a High Court Judge and prominent figure in the community, urged residents to continue supporting Dr. Wali to enable him to achieve even more.
In his address, Dr. Ahmed Wali Doho expressed gratitude to the community for the recognition, emphasizing that his leadership is anchored on service rather than authority. “I am here to serve, not to rule,” he said.
Dr. Wali also lauded his fellow local government chairmen for their solidarity and support, which he credited for boosting his ability to deliver results.
He extended special appreciation to the Doho Development Association for organizing the event without any financial contribution from him.
The event also featured a lecture on ethical leadership, delivered by Malam Suleiman Tolba Magaji and Rev. Danjuma Maidugu.
The speakers emphasized the importance of fear of God and integrity in leadership, urging leaders to prioritize the welfare of their communities.
The celebration underscored the community’s collective appreciation of Dr. Wali’s service and reinforced the call for continuous support for his administration..

NOA Gombe Director Honored as Outstanding Woman on International Women’s Day

At a grand ceremony held at the Gombe International Conference Center, the State Director of the National Orientation Agency (NOA) Gombe State, Mrs. Adaline Waye Patari, was honored with the Outstanding Woman Award for her exceptional leadership, resilience, and dedication to empowering women and transforming communities.
The award was presented during the 2025 International Women’s Day celebration in Gombe State, organized by the Motherhen Development Foundation in collaboration with the Jewel Care Foundation, Crystal Justice, Santana Care Foundation, and the Bala Waja Development Initiative.
In her acceptance speech, Mrs. Adaline Waye Patari dedicated the recognition to her entire team at NOA, acknowledging their tireless efforts in promoting awareness, inclusivity, and empowerment, particularly among women.
> “This award is not just for me; it belongs to every hardworking individual at NOA who is committed to driving change. We will continue to work tirelessly to create a society where women and girls can thrive, free from discrimination and marginalization,” she stated.
She further encouraged women to believe in their potential, emphasizing that their voices matter, their contributions count, and their dreams are valid.

Speaking at the event, the Executive Director of the Motherhen Development Foundation, Dr. Erisa Danladi, highlighted the importance of recognizing women who have significantly contributed to community development, leadership, and empowerment.
She explained that the awards were designed to motivate, celebrate, and inspire more women to take active roles in society.
The recognition categories included the Grassroots Women Award, Community Women Award, Outstanding Women Award, He for She Award, and the Royal He for She Award for traditional leaders championing women’s development.
Among the recipients of the Outstanding Woman Award were Hon. Aishatu Jibir Dukku, Dr. Aishatu Umar Maigari, and *Justice Zainab Bulkaciwa (Rtd). *Meanwhile, the He for She Award was presented to Barr. Sani Ahmad Haruna (Executive Chairman, Gombe Local Government), Comrade Faruq Muazu Gombe (Chairman, Nigerian Union of Journalists, NUJ), and Amb. Ibrahim Yusuf (Chairman, Gombe Network of Civil Society).
Additionally, traditional rulers such as Mai Kaltungo HRH Engr. Saleh Muhammad, Bala Waja HRH Alh. Mohammed Danjuma, and Lamido Gona HRH Alh. Umar Abdulkadir Abdulsalam received the Royal He for She Award for their advocacy in promoting women’s empowerment.
The 2025 International Women’s Day celebration in Gombe was not only a moment of recognition but also a powerful call to action for gender inclusivity, leadership, and societal progress.
As the event concluded, the resounding message was clear: Women’s contributions are invaluable, and their role in shaping a better society must be amplified and supported.
