NYCN Gombe Commends Chief of Staff, Security Agencies for Outstanding Contributions

The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Gombe State chapter, has praised the Chief of Staff to the Gombe State Governor, Alhaji Abubakar Inuwa Kari, for his unwavering commitment to youth empowerment and inclusive leadership.
Speaking at a recent event, the NYCN Chairman, Alamin Ibraheem, described Alhaji Kari as a “youth-friendly leader” whose dedication to fostering development and creating opportunities for the younger generation has been exemplary. As a token of appreciation, the council presented him with gifts to recognize his contributions to the progress of youths in the state.
During the event, Alamin Ibraheem also lauded the tireless efforts of Gombe State security agencies in ensuring the safety and security of lives and property. He expressed particular gratitude to the Nigeria Police Force under the leadership of Commissioner of Police Hayatu Usman, alongside other security agencies in the state.
“The security agencies in Gombe, especially the police under CP Hayatu Usman, have demonstrated remarkable professionalism and dedication to protecting our communities. Their collaborative efforts with other security outfits have ensured peace and stability in our state,” Ibraheem stated.
He further called on the youth to continue supporting the government and security agencies in their quest to build a safer and more prosperous Gombe State.
The commendation highlights the growing synergy between the government, security agencies, and the youth, aimed at fostering peace, development, and inclusivity across the state.

Shongom LGA Chairperson Distributes Food and Cash to Communities in Gombe South

The Executive Chairperson of Shongom Local Government Council, Hajiya Dr. Fatima Binta Bello, has distributed food items and cash to various communities in Gombe South Gombe State to alleviate hardship and support vulnerable residents.
During the distribution exercise, Dr. Fatima Binta Bello emphasized that the initiative was in line with the leadership style of His Excellency, Governor Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya, whom she praised for his commitment to grassroots development and social welfare.
The gesture was well received by beneficiaries across different communities in Gombe South, who expressed their appreciation for the support and commended both Dr. Fatima Binta Bello and Governor Inuwa Yahaya for their dedication to improving the lives of the people, especially in Gombe South. Many residents acknowledged that such interventions have been a recurring effort by the Shongom LGA Chairperson, aimed at supporting her constituents.
Among the beneficiaries were Tsangaya (Almajiri) schools, Many House Hold, whose students received essential supplies to aid their welfare and education. Community members and religious leaders prayed for Dr. Fatima Binta Bello, wishing her success in all aspects of life and urging her to continue her humanitarian efforts.
The distribution event highlights the ongoing commitment of the Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya-led administration to improving the well-being of citizens, particularly at the grassroots level, through strategic support programs.

Gombe Traders Association Distributes Over ₦15.88 Million to Fire Victims

Gombe Traders Association, Old Market Chapter, has distributed over ₦15,883,000 to traders who lost their shops and properties in the recent fire outbreak that affected more than 20 shops in the market.
During the cash distribution, the Chairman of the association, Alhaji Danjuma Hayatu Bonanza, stated that the funds were raised through contributions from politicians, organizations, well-to-do individuals, and members of the market. He expressed gratitude to all those who contributed, acknowledging their generosity in supporting the affected traders.
Alhaji Danjuma also appreciated the Gombe State Government under the leadership of Governor Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya, as well as the Chairman of Gombe Local Government Area, the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), and the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) for assessing the damage caused by the fire. He called on the government and other stakeholders to continue supporting the victims.
He further stated that the association remains open to receiving more contributions from individuals and groups willing to assist in rehabilitating the affected traders.
The distribution exercise was witnessed by the association’s secretary, financial secretary, public relations officer, and other executive members.
Speaking at the event, the District Head of Jekadafari, Alhaji Abdullahi Maikano, commended the association for standing by its members in their time of need. He urged them to maintain the spirit of unity and support within the market community.
One of the beneficiaries, Ibrahim Yusuf P.A., who spoke on behalf of the affected traders, expressed gratitude to the association’s leadership and all those who contributed financially to their recovery.
The fire outbreak had caused significant losses to traders in the market, leaving many in distress. However, with this financial intervention, affected traders are hopeful of rebuilding their businesses and moving forward.

Gombe Information Commissioner Hails NUJ at 70, Praises Journalists’ Role in Nation-Building

Gombe State’s Commissioner for Information, Culture, and Ethical Orientation, Alhaji Mijinyawa Mohammed Tilde, has extended heartfelt congratulations to the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) on its 70th anniversary, describing the milestone as a testament to the union’s resilience, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to press freedom in Nigeria.
In a statement marking the NUJ’s platinum jubilee, Tilde lauded the union’s contributions to fostering ethical journalism, ensuring accountability, and promoting democracy across the country. He noted that the NUJ has been a crucial pillar in upholding the sanctity of the Fourth Estate of the Realm, amplifying the voices of the people while holding power to account.
According to the commissioner, the role of journalists in Gombe State cannot be overstated. “The NUJ in Gombe has been an indispensable partner in disseminating credible information, fostering public enlightenment, and reinforcing democratic ethos. The dedication, sagacity, and professional integrity of journalists in our state have played a pivotal role in governance, societal transformation, and national cohesion,” he stated.
Tilde commended the sacrifices journalists make in the line of duty, often facing daunting challenges yet remaining resolute in their pursuit of truth and justice. He emphasized that as the media landscape continues to evolve in the digital era, journalists must remain steadfast in their commitment to responsible reporting and ethical standards.
“As we celebrate this landmark occasion, it is imperative that we strengthen our collective resolve to uphold the principles of responsible journalism. The media must continue to be a bastion of integrity, ensuring that public discourse is shaped by facts, accountability, and professionalism,” he said.
The commissioner urged journalists to continue playing their critical role in national development, expressing optimism that the NUJ would scale new heights in its quest for journalistic excellence and societal advancement.
While congratulating the NUJ on this historic milestone, Tilde reaffirmed the Gombe State Government’s commitment to supporting press freedom and fostering an environment where journalists can thrive without fear or intimidation.
