The National Orientation Agency (NOA) has joined forces with Youth O’Clock Advancement Movement Nigeria in a strategic campaign to enlighten the public on the importance of peace and religious tolerance in national development.

This was made known by the Gombe State Director of NOA, Mrs. Adaline Waye Patari, while receiving a delegation from the movement on an advocacy visit to her office.

Mrs. Patari emphasized that peaceful coexistence and religious tolerance are crucial for societal development, commending the group’s efforts in taking awareness campaigns to every corner of Gombe State.

She particularly applauded Youth O’Clock Nigeria’s proposed Gombe Peace Dialogue, describing it as a vital initiative that will not only strengthen security and harmony in the state but across the country.

The State Director further assured the movement of NOA’s full support in ensuring the success of its peace-driven programs.

Speaking earlier, the Gombe State Coordinator of Youth O’Clock Nigeria, Comrade Abdulazeez Sani Labaran, explained that the visit aimed to officially brief NOA on the group’s objectives, discuss the upcoming Gombe Peace Dialogue, and explore areas of collaboration to foster lasting peace and development.

He highlighted that Youth O’Clock Nigeria is dedicated to youth empowerment and national progress through key interventions in peace and security, education, water sanitation, and hygiene.

As part of their advocacy efforts, the delegation also visited the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) Gombe State Council, where its Chairman, Comrade Faruq Muazu Gombe, praised the movement’s vision and assured them of full media support in amplifying their message.

Similarly, the team was warmly received at Vision FM Gombe by the station’s General Manager, Malam Gidado Umar Kumo.

After listening to the movement’s mission, he pledged the station’s unwavering support, recognizing the importance of nurturing young minds as the future leaders of the nation.

With these strategic engagements, the Youth O’Clock Nigeria movement is gaining momentum in its mission to promote peace, tolerance, and youth development for a stronger and more united Nigeria.

The Gombe State Command of the Nigerian Police Force has reaffirmed its commitment to collaborating with the Youth O’clock Advancement Movement Association Nigeria to enhance security across the state.

This was disclosed by the newly posted Commissioner of Police, CP Bello Yahya, during an advocacy visit by the association to the state command headquarters.

According to CP Bello Yahya, security is a collective responsibility, and it is crucial for stakeholders and citizens to actively support security agencies, particularly by providing timely intelligence on suspicious activities to facilitate swift action.

Commending the Youth O’clock Nigeria for its vision of empowering young people and combating social vices, CP Bello Yahya emphasized that such initiatives are instrumental in shaping responsible citizens who contribute meaningfully to national development.

Expressing concern over the rising involvement of minors in criminal activities, which he linked to drug abuse, CP Yahya assured that the Gombe State Police Command would work closely with Youth O’clock Nigeria to develop initiatives that will help protect lives and property across the state.

Earlier, the Gombe State Coordinator of Youth O’clock Nigeria, Comrade Abdulazeez Sani Labaran, stated that the visit aimed at exploring collaborative efforts between the association and the police to tackle security challenges.

He highlighted key initiatives such as peace dialogues to promote religious tolerance and the Peace Cup Football Competition, which seeks to unite youths from different communities in Gombe State.

Comrade Labaran appreciated the Commissioner of Police for the warm reception and assured him that Youth O’clock Nigeria remains committed to supporting the police in their mission to safeguard lives and property, in alignment with the Nigerian Constitution.

In a related development, the Youth O’clock delegation also visited the Chief Executive Officer of Green White Green Sport Center, Alhaji Ahmed Shuaibu Gara-Gombe, where he offered valuable advice to support the association’s growth and pledged his unwavering support for any initiative aimed at fostering sustainable development in Gombe State.

Notable members of the delegation included Secretary-General Atobi James Chachis, Advisory Board Representative Abbas Muhammad, Head of Finance Amina Ahmed Yuguda, Assistant Coordinator for Gombe North Suleiman Muhammad, Assistant Coordinator for Gombe Central Abdulwahab Haladu Zarma, Igbo Community Representative Aguwani Emmanuel Igwe, Gombe Local Government Treasurer Zuwaira Ahmed Tijjani, and Abdulaziz Ibrahim Hassan, a member of the association.

The Gombe State Chapter of the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) has expressed its unwavering confidence in the leadership of its National Chairman, Alhaji Mogaji Ibrahim Olaniyan, commending his transformative contributions to community policing and national development.

The commendation was delivered by the Gombe State PCRC Chairman, Comrade Garba Muhammad Ubale, during the organization’s first program of 2025, which also featured the inauguration of Youth and Women Committees.

Ubale described Olaniyan as a nationalist leader committed to promoting the PCRC and supporting the Nigerian Police under the leadership of the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun. He noted Olaniyan’s relentless efforts, including traveling across Nigeria to strengthen the PCRC’s mission.

“Although he could not attend in person, his message of encouragement has further strengthened our resolve to contribute more to community security,” Ubale stated.

He also praised Olaniyan for fostering a sense of shared responsibility in addressing security challenges, emphasizing that effective community policing is a collective effort.
“His leadership has inspired us all to remain active, as security is a shared duty that cannot be left solely to law enforcement agencies,” Ubale added.

Under Olaniyan’s guidance, the PCRC has taken firm steps to eliminate corrupt elements from its platform, thereby improving its credibility and focus on community development.

The Gombe State Commissioner of Police, CP Yahaya Bello, represented by his Deputy, DCP Mustapha Bashir, acknowledged the PCRC’s tireless support in tackling insecurity. He urged the committee to sustain and expand its efforts to complement law enforcement operations.

In her goodwill message, the Director of the National Orientation Agency (NOA), Ms. Adaline Waye Patari, applauded the PCRC for its grassroots presence and vital role in providing critical information that has helped reduce crime in communities.

Patari also highlighted NOA’s involvement in conflict resolution, citing the agency’s recent mediation in a longstanding land dispute between the Kinafa and Gwani communities as an example of its impact.

Barrister Sani A.A. Haruna, Chairman of Gombe Local Government and ALGON, emphasized the importance of community collaboration in combating insecurity. He announced a new policy requiring property owners to collect biodata from tenants to ensure proper identification of individuals renting homes.

Similarly, Alhaji Yaya Hammari, the Waziri of Yariman Gombe, stressed the traditional institution’s role in promoting peace and security. He commended the PCRC for its dedication to bridging the gap between communities and security agencies.

The event highlighted the PCRC’s crucial role in enhancing security partnerships and its commitment to building safer communities through grassroots involvement and collective action.
