Hope Fulfilled: Senator Dankwambo Builds Long-Awaited Mosque in Dukku

By Our Correspondent
In a show of commitment to religious development and community support, the Senator representing Gombe North Senatorial District, Senator Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo, has constructed a newly completed modern Jumat Mosque in Lule, a village under Gombe Abba Ward of Dukku Local Government Area.
The official commissioning of the mosque took place on Friday, marked by a special Jumat prayer led by local clerics and attended by hundreds of worshippers. Speaking shortly after observing the prayer, Senator Dankwambo said the construction of the mosque was part of his efforts to support and promote the Islamic faith across his constituency.
“I built this mosque to support the growth of Islam and to provide a befitting place of worship for the people of this community,” he stated. “This is part of my commitment to give back to my constituents and contribute to their spiritual well-being.”
Also speaking to journalists during the event, the Senator’s Special Assistant, Alhaji Salisu Mr. B, described the gesture as a reflection of Dankwambo’s dedication to the propagation of Islam. He explained that the mosque project includes modern toilet facilities for the convenience of worshippers, and forms part of a broader initiative to improve living conditions across the senatorial district.
“This is not the first mosque the Senator has constructed in Dukku Local Government,” Alhaji Salisu noted. “He has consistently delivered various dividends of democracy, including boreholes, healthcare facilities, and culverts across the entire constituency.”
The Emir of Dukku, Alhaji Dr. Haruna Abdulkadir Rasheed, who graced the event, expressed deep appreciation for the lawmaker’s contribution. He noted that the Lule community had for decades attempted to build the mosque but lacked the resources to bring the project to fruition.
“We are truly grateful to Senator Dankwambo for stepping in where others could not,” the Emir said. “This is a historic achievement for the people of Lule, and I urge community leaders to take responsibility for its maintenance and continued development.”
On behalf of the Lule community, the village head thanked Senator Dankwambo for the generous gesture, offering prayers for his continued protection and success during his tenure in office.
The commissioning ceremony was attended by religious leaders, community elders, youths, and political stakeholders, who hailed the project as a symbol of unity and progress in the area.

The presentation, which took place in Gombe, was made on behalf of Professor Pantami—renowned scholar, former Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, and traditional titleholder *Majidadin Daular Usmaniyya*. Observers say the move further cements Professor Pantami’s political and social influence, particularly among the youth and grassroots networks across the region. Supporters described the donation as “a boost to motivation and recognition of unsung contributors.”
With growing political activity and community mobilization in the lead-up to the next election cycle, acts such as this are expected to reinforce loyalty and visibility for key figures like Professor Pantami and his allies.
