Former Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, has added a fourth wife to his family following a private wedding ceremony held last Saturday in Abuja.

The new bride, identified as Hiqma, became the fourth woman to join the former governor’s household in a discreet event attended only by close family members and associates of both the groom and the bride, according to reports by TST Hausa.

The news of the marriage became public after Bello’s third wife, Hafiza Bello, confirmed the development on her official Instagram page, a move that quickly sparked reactions across social media.

In a video clip she posted from the wedding, Hafiza expressed gratitude to God and warmly welcomed the new bride into the family.

> “Alhamdulillah, our family has grown to four. We warmly welcome our new bride,” she said in the post, accompanied by photos and moments from the celebration.

According to a report by Daily Post, Yahaya Bello was previously married to three women: Amina Oyiza Bello, Rashida Bello, and Hafiza Bello, before this latest addition.

While polygamy is permissible in Islam and practiced by many in Northern Nigeria, the discreet nature of the wedding and its confirmation via social media have reignited conversations around the private lives of political figures and how much of it should remain public.

As of the time of filing this report, no official statement has been released by the former governor himself regarding the wedding. However, sources close to the family say the couple are enjoying their honeymoon and receiving blessings from relatives and supporters.

Renowned political praise singer, Dauda Kahutu Rarara, is set to tie the knot with popular Kannywood actress and longtime chorus singer, Aisha Humaira, in Maiduguri, Borno State.

A close associate of the groom, who spoke on condition of anonymity, confirmed to this newspaper that the wedding is scheduled to take place on Friday, immediately after the Juma’at prayers.

“Everything is set. The wedding will take place in Maiduguri right after the Juma’at prayer. It’s going to be a low-key but significant event,” the source revealed.

Rarara and Aisha Humaira have collaborated closely over the years, with Humaira lending her voice to many of Rarara’s widely known political songs. Their professional bond, sources say, gradually evolved into a personal relationship.

“Aisha has always been more than just a chorus voice in his songs. They share a deep connection. This wedding isn’t a surprise to those of us who know them well,” the source added.

Though the wedding will be modest in scale, it marks a significant moment in the lives of two of Northern Nigeria’s most prominent entertainers. Fans and well-wishers are expected to celebrate the union, even as the couple keeps the event private.
