The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially confirmed a new slate of leaders for the African Democratic Congress (ADC), signaling a major shake-up in Nigeria’s opposition politics. The announcement, made available on Tuesday, follows the ratification of the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) list, ushering in a high-powered team that includes political heavyweights and emerging voices.

Topping the list is former Senate President, Senator David Mark, who has been confirmed as the new National Chairman of the ADC. His return to frontline politics is seen by analysts as a strategic move that could reposition the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.

In a surprise development, former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Sir Babachir Lawal, has been named Deputy National Chairman (North-East), further boosting the party’s northern appeal and consolidating its presence across the geopolitical zones.

Dr. Chike Okogeu – National Leader for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs)

Prof. Oserheimen Osunbor – National Legal Adviser
