Yobe State is brimming with pride after two remarkable young girls made history on the world stage by winning top honors at the 2025 Teen Eagle Global Finals in London.
Rukayya Fema emerged as the Overall Best Debater, while Nafisa Aliyu claimed the title of Spelling Bee Champion.
Both champions are students of Yobe Tulip International College (NTIC) and have demonstrated extraordinary brilliance, discipline, and courage.
Their victories not only bring glory to Yobe State but also shine a spotlight on Nigeria’s academic excellence globally.
UN Women Focal Person to the Yobe State Governor, Hon. Fatima Muhammad Paga, congratulated the young champions and called for nationwide recognition, similar to the heroic receptions given to sports stars like the Super Falcons.
“These two young girls have carried the pride of Yobe and Nigeria to the world stage.
They deserve accolades, including a $100,000 national award, and a grand celebratory parade in Abuja just like we honor our sports champions.
Rukayya and Nafisa have proven that academic heroes deserve equal recognition and support,” Hon. Fatima said.
She further urged Yobians and Nigerians at large to rally behind the champions and use their success as an inspiration for more young girls to pursue global academic excellence.
The achievements of Rukayya and Nafisa are not just individual triumphs they symbolize hope, resilience, and the limitless potential of Nigerian youth when given the right opportunities and encouragement.
