Born on the 25th of October, 1964, to the family of Sunday Buri Salati Hamman in Yolde, Cham, Micah’s journey is rooted in discipline, resilience, and faith. He began his academic pursuit at Central Primary School, Cham, where he obtained his First School Leaving Certificate (FSLC) in 1977. His thirst for knowledge took him to the prestigious Federal Government College, Maiduguri, where he earned his General Certificate of Education (GCE) O’ Level in 1982.

With a firm academic foundation, he proceeded to the Bauchi College of Arts and Science (BACAS), where he completed the Interim Joint Matriculation Board (IJMB) ‘A’ Level in 1984. That same year, he gained admission to Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, graduating with a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Accounting in 1987.

Micah Hamman is a highly decorated professional in the accounting and management sectors. He holds the prestigious title of Fellow, Chartered Accountant (FCA) of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN). Additionally, he is a Fellow of the Association of Applied Information Management Professionals (FAIMP) and a Member of the Nigerian Institute of Management (MNIM).

His early professional years saw him serve as an accountant in the Bauchi State Government and later as Accounts Assistant with the RUSAFIYA UNDP/World Bank Project in Jos.

His roles became increasingly significant with appointments at the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), where he served as Senior and then Principal Accountant. He continued his professional rise through strategic positions in the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) as Assistant Chief Accountant.

Micah’s financial acumen and integrity earned him more prominent roles, including Chief Accountant and Assistant Director at the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation. He later became Deputy Director at the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and served as Director of Finance and Accounts at the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs.

In recognition of his leadership in public finance, he was appointed General Manager, Finance and Accounts at the North East Development Commission (NEDC), and ultimately served as Director of Finance and Accounts at the State House (Presidency), where he concluded his civil service career in 2024.
