Battle-Ready: 310 Lawyers Mobilize Nationwide to Defend ADC Ahead of 2027 Elections

In a significant show of legal muscle ahead of the 2027 general elections, no fewer than 310 lawyers have volunteered to defend the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in all ongoing and anticipated legal battles across the country.

This was made known by Barrister Abdullahi Abdurrahman, the Leader of the National Legal Support Group for the ADC, during a courtesy visit to the party’s Interim National Chairman, Senator David Mark, in Abuja.

Abdurrahman disclosed that the legal support team, drawn from all 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), is strategically positioned to respond to any legal challenge the party may face, particularly in the run-up to the 2027 elections.

> “We are prepared to handle any case against the ADC, anywhere in the country,” Abdurrahman asserted, while commending Senator Mark’s leadership, transparency, and commitment to strengthening the party.

The legal contingent includes several high-profile legal minds, such as Barr. Peter Oyewole, Abubakar Malami (SAN), and Professor Oserheimen Osunbor, signaling the party’s readiness to take on legal contests at the highest level.

Abdurrahman appealed to the party’s National Legal Adviser to make available all relevant documents and materials to enable the legal team to discharge its responsibilities effectively and efficiently.

Speaking during the meeting, Barr. Peter Oyewole assured party stakeholders that all legal processes relating to the party’s recent coalition arrangements were duly followed and are constitutionally sound.

On his part, Senator David Mark expressed deep appreciation for the legal team’s voluntary commitment and patriotism. He encouraged them to remain proactive, dedicated, and professional in defending the party’s interests.

> “ADC is the party to beat in 2027,” Senator Mark boldly declared, urging members to remain focused and united as the party positions itself as a credible alternative in Nigeria’s evolving political landscape.

The ADC’s preparation on the legal front is seen by analysts as a strategic step toward solidifying its presence and defending its mandates amid expected political realignments and electoral disputes ahead of the 2027 polls.
