Da’awa Organisation Seeks Royal Support Across Four Gombe LGAs

The Gombe State branch of the Da’awa and Relief Organisation has intensified its Islamic outreach and humanitarian activities across rural communities, with a visit to four Local Government Areas aimed at strengthening grassroots Da’awa and securing the support of traditional institutions.

The organisation’s state leadership visited Akko, Kaltungo, Balanga and Dukku Local Government Areas, where it held engagements with traditional rulers, local branch leaders and members to review ongoing activities, identify challenges and chart ways of expanding Islamic propagation and humanitarian assistance.

Speaking during the visits to the palaces of the Bala Waja, Mai Kaltungo, Pindiga, Akko and Dukku, the State Chairman of the organisation, Dr. Muhammad Lawan, said the initiative was part of efforts to strengthen Da’awa activities and encourage members operating in rural communities.

Dr. Lawan explained that the organisation regularly deploys Islamic scholars to rural areas to conduct Da’awa missions and provide religious enlightenment to communities.

He added that the organisation also supports orphans, less privileged persons and new converts to Islam as part of its humanitarian and religious responsibilities.

According to him, the Da’awa and Relief Organisation has branches and members across all the eleven Local Government Areas of Gombe State, making grassroots engagement essential to achieving its objectives.

He said the visits were intended not only to encourage members and strengthen their activities, but also to promote unity among members and seek the blessings, guidance and cooperation of traditional rulers.

The State Chairman expressed appreciation to the traditional institutions for their continued role in promoting peace, unity and religious understanding within their communities.

Responding at their respective palaces, the traditional rulers commended the Da’awa and Relief Organisation for its contributions to Islamic education and humanitarian development.

The royal fathers, including Alhaji Danjuma Muhammad, Mai Kaltungo, Alhaji Muhammad Atiku and Alhaji Haruna Abdulkadir Rasheed, praised the organisation for educating Muslims on Islamic practices and providing assistance to orphans and vulnerable members of society.

They also acknowledged the organisation’s Hisba activities, describing it as an institution that has gained recognition in Nigeria and neighbouring countries through its Islamic propagation and community-based activities.

The traditional rulers urged members of the organisation to remain committed to their religious and humanitarian responsibilities, while assuring them of their continued support and cooperation whenever required.

They prayed for Allah to continue to bless the organisation, its leadership and members, and grant them success in their efforts to promote Islamic teachings and support vulnerable people in society.

During the visit, the state leadership also met with officials of the organisation’s local branches in the four Local Government Areas.

The meetings provided an opportunity for members to discuss a wide range of issues, including Da’awa and preaching activities, religious enlightenment campaigns, assistance to orphans and less privileged persons, achievements recorded so far and challenges affecting their operations.

The chairmen of the local branches expressed appreciation for the visit, describing it as a source of encouragement to members at the grassroots.

They said the engagement had strengthened their resolve to intensify Islamic propagation and humanitarian activities within their respective communities.

The local branch leaders also commended Dr. Muhammad Lawan and the state leadership for providing encouragement and assistance towards advancing Da’awa activities across Gombe State.

They pledged to continue working with the state leadership and traditional institutions to expand religious enlightenment, promote unity and strengthen humanitarian support for vulnerable members of their communities.

The organisation’s latest outreach underscores the importance of collaboration between religious organisations and traditional institutions in promoting moral education, community development, humanitarian assistance and peaceful coexistence across Gombe State.
