ADSI Launches Digital Financial Empowerment Workshop in Gombe

In a bid to reduce hardship in Northern Nigeria, the Arewa Development Support Initiative (ADSI) has organized a two-day training workshop on Monie Point operations and cyber security in Gombe State.

The program, which is ongoing in all 19 northern states, aims to empower individuals and communities with the skills and knowledge needed to navigate the digital financial landscape.

According to the ADIS coordinator in Gombe state, Mrs. Hannatu Ahmed Yaro, the program is committed to reducing the rate of hardship affecting Northern Nigeria.

She explained that the program is designed to provide a lifeline for the less privileged in society.

The coordinator said, at the end of the training, participants were provided with ATM cards to open accounts, which a crucial step towards financial inclusion.

Mrs Hannatu Ahmed explained that, the two-day workshop, which trained over 100 beneficiaries from the 11 LGAs of Gombe State, serves as a beacon of hope for a region grappling with hardship.

The ADIS Secretary, Amjad Garba, emphasized the importance of collective effort in driving development.

He urged individuals to contribute their quota to the development of Gombe State and Northern Nigeria at large.

Amjad Garba added that the program is funded through monthly contributions from ADSI members across the 11 LGAs of Gombe State.

Some of the beneficiaries of the program, Michael Victor, Mojison Emmanuel, and Ibrahim Garba, expressed their heartfelt gratitude to ADSI for the training.

APC Registration Gets Major Lift as Dr. Jamilu Gwamna Donates ₦22m

Dr. Jamilu Ishaqa Gwamna, popularly known as Sardaunan Gombe, has donated over ₦22 million in support of the All Progressives Congress (APC) renewed membership registration exercise across Gombe State, in a major show of loyalty and commitment to the party.

The donation was made during a courtesy visit to the APC State Secretariat in Gombe, where Dr. Gwamna presented ₦10 million to the state party office. In addition, he donated ₦1 million each to the 11 Local Government Areas of the state, amounting to ₦11 million, and another ₦1 million to his ward in Jekadafari, Gombe, bringing the total donation to over ₦22 million.

Speaking during the visit, Dr. Gwamna said the gesture was part of his personal contribution towards ensuring the success of the APC at all levels, particularly the smooth and successful conduct of the renewed membership registration exercise. He called on party members and supporters to actively participate in the registration process, stressing that a strong membership base is key to the party’s growth and electoral success.

He further reaffirmed his unwavering support for the administration of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, pledging continuous loyalty and commitment to the ideals and leadership of the APC.

The APC State Chairman, Mr. Nitte Amangal, alongside other members of the State Executive Committee, received Dr. Gwamna at the party secretariat. Responding on behalf of the party leadership, the Deputy State Chairman of APC, Alhaji Baba Abuja, expressed profound appreciation to Dr. Jamilu Ishaqa Gwamna for the generous donation, describing him as a loyal, dedicated and committed party man whose contributions continue to strengthen the APC in Gombe State.

After the visit to the state secretariat, Dr. Gwamna proceeded to his ward in Jekadafari, where he formally renewed his APC membership card, setting a personal example for party members.

At the ward level, several stakeholders and party leaders, including Mijinyawa Sani Labaran, Ibrahim Bakas, the APC Ward Chairman, and other party officials, spoke at the event, commending Dr. Gwamna for his generosity, leadership, and consistent support for the party.

Dr. Jamilu Ishaqa Gwamna was accompanied by thousands of supporters, who trooped out in large numbers to show solidarity and demonstrate their support for his political vision and commitment to the APC.

The event marked a significant boost to the APC renewed membership registration drive in Gombe State and further cemented Dr. Gwamna’s status as one of the party’s major pillars in the state.

Gombe: NDE trains 66 artisans to tackle unemployment

The National Directorate of Employment (NDE) said it was currently training no fewer than 66 artisans under the federal government’s Special Public Works (SPW) scheme in Gombe State.

The three-month intensive training was organised under the Artisans in Collaborative Construction Employment Scheme (ACCES) commenced in December and is expected to end in February, 2025.
Speaking with journalists in Gombe, Mrs Mawa Lamu Asmau, the State Coordinator of NDE, Gombe State office explained that the government through the agency was committed to closing the unemployment gap in the country with the provision of avenues for productive utilisation of the human capital.
She stated that during the training participants were expected to acquire marketable skills to become self-employed and reduce poverty, hunger, youth restiveness as well as other social vices.
According to her, the NDE under the present leadership of its Director-General, Mr. Silas Ali Agara, is committed to combating unemployment in the country in line with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Mass Employment Initiative.

She expressed optimism that the current employment initiative designed to engage a total of 93,731 unskilled and unemployed persons across Nigeria would help reduce unemployment while creating wealth amongst youths.
She advised participants to leverage the initiative to empower themselves and become self-reliant, contributing to national development.
Asmau stressed that the agency was re-strategising ways towards empowering youths through skill acquisition, hence urged Nigerians to support and embrace the Federal Government’s initiatives aimed at addressing unemployment in the country.
She commended President Tinubu and Mr Agara for supporting efforts at tackling unemployment in the state while giving unskilled and unemployed youths a sense of belonging.

A philanthropist in Gombe State, Dr. Bala Bello Tinka, has made a donation of 100 million to support the less privileged across the state.

This donation is aimed at alleviating poverty and reducing hardship among the state’s residents.

This was disclosed by the Chairman of the Distribution Committee, Alhaji Chiroma Abdulsalam Baciji, also known as Sa’in Funakaye. According to Sa’in Funakaye, Dr. Bala Bello Tinka has provided #50,000 each to all Imams and Na’ibs of Jumma’ah mosques in Gombe metropolitan, along with 1 million to the less privileged in each of these mosques.

Specifically, the two Izalah groups at Bolari Central Mosque got 5 Million Three hundred thousand naira only, which comprises 44 Jumma’ath mosques, and Izalah Goro Central Mosque got 5 Million 9 hundred thousand naira with 49 Jumma’ath mosques, were identified as beneficiaries of ₦1 million each.

In their separate remarks, the Chairman of JIBWIS Gombe State, Sheikh Engineer Alhaji Salisu Muhammad Gombe Bolari branch, and the Chairman of the Council of Ulama JIBWIS Goro Mosque branch, Sheikh Hamza Adamu Abdulhamid, commended Dr. Bala Bello Tinka for his timely intervention.

They described his contribution as a form of jihad, demonstrating his deep concern for his community. Both leaders prayed for God to reward Dr. Tinka abundantly for his efforts.

Dr. Bala Bello Tinka also extended his generosity to the Christian community in Gombe State by donating ₦2 Million five hundred thousand naira to the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Center in Gombe.

This donation was intended to be distributed among the less privileged within the Christian community.

Receiving the committee, Reverend Father Joseph Shinga expressed his gratitude on behalf of the Christian community. He assured Dr. Tinka of their support and prayers, and he emphasized the importance of using the funds wisely to assist their neighbors.

Several beneficiaries who benefited from this gesture include Malam Abubakar Usman Bolari, Malam Imrana Ibrahim, Malam Musa Doctor Yalanguruza, and Mr. Joseph, expressed their deep appreciation for Dr. Bala Bello Tinka’s concern, love, and empathy during this challenging period, pledging their unwavering support for him in all aspects of life.

The committee visited several locations during the distribution of the ₦100 million, including Bolari Central Jumma’ath Mosque, Goro Central Jumma’ath Mosque, and the CAN Center in Gombe State.
