Former Vice President of Nigeria, Architect Namadi Sambo, has dismissed recent reports circulating on social media alleging his defection to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). He described the claims as baseless and reaffirmed his unwavering loyalty to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the platform on which he served as Vice President from 2010 to 2015.

Speaking through a statement issued by his media office, Sambo clarified that he has no intention of leaving the PDP, a party he described as “home” and one with “the right vision to restore Nigeria’s prosperity.”

“I remain a committed member of the Peoples Democratic Party. Any report suggesting otherwise is entirely false and mischievous. The PDP remains the only party capable of rescuing the country from its current challenges and leading it to a better future,” the statement read.

Sambo further expressed confidence that the PDP will return to power in the 2027 general elections, citing the party’s deep-rooted national structure and its growing popularity among Nigerians.

“Our party is undergoing internal reforms and building strong alliances. By 2027, Nigerians will once again trust the PDP with the leadership of this country,” he added.

The former Vice President called on party faithful and supporters across the country to remain steadfast and focused, assuring them that the PDP will present a formidable front in the next electoral cycle.

This development comes amid ongoing realignments and political maneuverings ahead of the 2027 elections, with several prominent politicians switching allegiance between parties. However, Sambo’s stance adds strength to the PDP’s claims of unity and readiness for the next phase of national leadership.
